Department of Visual Media Contents Convergence

- Educational Goal

The visual media industry and the video industry play a pivotal role in leading the contemporary society. This trend is getting stronger as the society advances. In this context, the educational goal of the Department of Visual Media Contents Convergence is to nurture talented and creative visual media professionals through systematic and practical educations on the visual media and the relevant sectors to meet the demands of the time. In particular, the Department educates students about comprehensive knowledge of visual media as well as provides them with systematic and professional training including planning, production, and review of visual media to nurture talented professionals recognized by the media industry.

Division of Sports Industry Convergence

- Educational Goal

The educational goal of the Division of Sports Industry Convergence is to train students as leisure sports instructors, recreations and leisure instructors, and sports industry professionals for a healthy life and well-being required by the 21st century as well as sport professionals with a cosmopolitan outlook who can scientifically predict the future culture and leisure. To that end, the majors are divided into the Sport & Leisure Studies and the Sports Industry so that students can systematically learn theory and practical knowledge through exercise experiment, practical training to develop their teaching skills and to apply their knowledge in practice.

Sport & Leisure Studies

- Educational Goal

The educational goal of the Division of Sports Industry Convergence is to train students as leisure sports instructors, recreations and leisure instructors, and sports industry professionals for a healthy life and well-being required by the 21st century as well as sport professionals with a cosmopolitan outlook who can scientifically predict the future culture and leisure. Sports Industry

- Educational Goal

The sports industry creates added value through goods and services related to sports. In addition, the sports industry is integrated into other industries to create new added value which is expanding globally. In this context, the educational goal of the Department is to nurture global sports professionals by providing the comprehensive theory and scientific knowledge in the sports industry, which contributes to creating new markets and jobs.

Rehabilitation Welfare

- Educational Goal

The educational goal of the Department of Rehabilitation Welfare is to nurture welfare professionals equipped with comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of social welfare as well as rehabilitation professionals to realize a welfare society and to properly implement social welfare policies through practical educations. In particular, geriatric diseases, which contribute to high mortality rates, become one of the most important social problems. In this context, the goal of the Department is to nurture physical rehabilitation professionals to mange health care for the prevention of geriatric diseases and to provide physical rehabilitation after treatment of geriatric diseases.

Division of International Studies

There are three tracks in the Division of International Studies: Business, Korean Language and Culture Education, Undeclared and Exploratory Major. The program characteristics of each track are explained briefly below.

Business

- Program Information

Business track offers courses related to business administration and international trade, and its current official name is international trade management. The program aims to understand the activities of modern firms. The courses offered in this program are taught in English. The class consists of Korean students as well as international students from many different countries. If a foreign student is admitted to the division of international studies, he/she may choose this track as a major or a minor. As for a domestic student, he/she is supposed to have an undeclared and exploratory major, and the student may choose this track, later on, as a part of his/her academic program.

- Employment after Graduation

The program is designed to educate students who want to work in Korean companies as well as foreign companies. The graduates are expected to be employed by relatively large or global firms, since they are trained to have business knowledge in addition to English communication skills.

Korean Language and Culture Education

- Program Information

This track provides educational services so that foreign students can develop their understanding of Korean language and Korean culture at an advanced level. In particular, it offers courses related to Korean language, Korean culture, and Korean interpretation and translation. The goal is to produce competent graduates who can be recognized as experts in the field of Korean language education, interpretation and translation. Only foreign students may choose this track as a major or a minor, though some of the courses, such as tandem, are open to domestic students. The classes are taught in Korean.

- Employment after Graduation

The graduates of this program can find jobs in domestic and international companies or organizations which need high-level Korean speakers. They can also become Korean language teachers, interpretation and translation experts in any countries.

Undeclared and Exploratory Major

- Program Information

Only Korean students can be admitted to this educational program. The goal is to produce global experts needed in the international community. The students entering this program may choose the most suitable major after completing the first year study. During the first year, students may have opportunities to explore the fields they are interested in. The classes are taught in Korean.

- Employment after Graduation

As a student put time and effort into finding an appropriate major that may best fit one’s personality, aptitude and vocational preference, he/she may have a higher probability of getting a job which can utilize his/her potential ability to the maximum extent. Students may also have an opportunity to understand global economy and labor market before selecting an academic field, leading to successful employment after graduation.

Division of Police Administration & Information Security

Police Administration

- Educational Goal

The Department of Police Administration aims to nurture legal professionals and administrative professionals who contribute to the national development. The object of the Department is to enhance basic legal expertise based on creative and logical thinking in order to nurture legal professionals who are actively engaged in various fields, to cultivate the understanding of law of the foreign countries in order to meet the demands of the era of globalization and information, and to provide systematic and professional education in order to fulfill the social justice and the rule of law.

Cyber Security & Police (CSP)

- Educational Goal

The Department of Cyber Security & Police aims to nurture the elite cyber police and the white hackers to combat cyber terrorism and crime. The object of the Department is to develop their offensive cyber-capabilities and cyber investigation capabilities as well as to increase patriotism and ethics as cyber warriors.

Computer & Information Security

- Educational Goal

The Department of Computer & Information Security aims to nurture professionals in the global information security sector who are field friendly and equipped with information security knowledge to take actions against cyber crimes and hacking.
